Mathematician Card

Dear all,
Remember the Mathematician card you did some time back in March, the standard is really way below expectations.

Many of you did not give your best.

I need you to redo some of the questions and submit to me on Monday when school reopens. Please present your answers neatly.

Question 1
Choose a 5-digit number. Write down the place values of all the 5 digits in your number.

Question 2
If a square table can seat 4 people, find out how many tables will be needed to seat 40 people if the tables are joined in one row. (Show your working)

Question 3
Draw a figure with 6 equal sides. Show 2 ways how you can shade  2/9 of the your figure.

Question 4
If 6 people shake hands with each other once, how many handshakes will there be among the 6 people?
 ( Show your working)

Question 5
Find out the birthdays of 10 of your classmates. Use tally to count the number of birthdays in each month. Present your data in a table and a line graph.
(Note : You have to make a tally count, draw a table to show the data and then draw a line graph)

Question 6
Ali goes swimming every 3 days while Raju goes swimming every 2 days.If they met at the swimming pool on 1st January, how many more times will they meet in January. What are the dates that they will meet in January?

Question 7
Draw a figure that has both parallel and perpendicular lines using a set square and a ruler. Label the ends of the lines and write down all the pairs of perpendicular and parallel lines in your figure.


Question 8
Create a card or board game using any of the four operations involving whole numbers. Include a brief description on the rules of the game and how to play the game. ( If you need to present this on a A3 or A4 paper, please do so. You may want to make your game aesthetically appealing, meaning look nice. You can make use of the computer to help you with the design. The most appealing and creative game gets a PRIZE!!!!)
